Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrival to Lima

City Tour Lima

ANCESTRAL LIMA: We start our tour with a panoramic view of the "Pucllana Pyramid", a magnificent ceremonial and archaeological center built in the 4th century A.D. and considered "sacred village" by the Incas.

COLONIAL LIMA: We visit the Historic Center of Lima, where you will appreciate more than fifty monuments and colonial buildings, highlighting the Paseo de la Republica, the Plaza San Martin, the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, the Municipal Palace and others.

We visit the MUSEUM OF THE CENTRAL RESERVE BANK*, where you will appreciate the "Treasures of Peru Collection", a select exhibition of gold objects, ceramics and textiles from various pre-Columbian cultures. In addition, appreciate the MONUMENTAL CONJUNTO DE SAN FRANCISCO, which is the largest sample of colonial religious art in America. A visit to its subway crypts known as "Catacombs" is a must.

DAY 02: PARACAS - ICA TOUR

04:00 Hrs. Departure to the city of Paracas Cruz del Sur Transportation Company.

07:15 Hrs. Arrival to the city of Paracas and transfer to the pier.

08:00 Hrs. TOURS BALLESTAS ISLANDS

Excursion to the Paracas Peninsula, the most important wildlife sanctuary of the Peruvian coast. Motor boat ride to the Ballestas Islands, where we will be able to observe sea lions, birds, sea lions, pelicans, penguins and other sea birds. On the way back we will have the opportunity to see the "Candelabro", a giant figure in the style of the Nazca Lines made in the sand. Free time before returning to take pictures of sea lions, seals and seabirds.

10:50 Hrs. Departure to the city of Ica in tourist mobility.

12:00 Hrs. Arrival to the city of Ica and transfer to the Huacachina Lagoon where our tour begins on the shores of the Huacachina Lagoon, from this point we will drive our sand tubulars to the west, in the direction of the desert, where there are a variety of dunes. Here we will ride our buggies or sandcars across a large part of the desert going up and down the dunes. The desert of Ica in Huacachina offers some of the most beautiful desert landscapes in South America, with whimsical sand formations formed by the wind, and with a beautiful view of our Peruvian Andes on the east side. Our professional driver will make different stops so that our clients can appreciate the scenery, as well as take pictures. Then we will drive our vehicle to the top of a large dune where our instructor guide will show you how to practice the sport of sandboarding. Once at the top our clients will be able to safely enjoy this sport, and will also be able to take lots of pictures. Finally we will return to the Huacachina Lagoon.

At the indicated time we take the bus to Arequipa.

DAY 03: Arequipa - Colca Canyon

We will pick you up from the bus station to board the bus to the Colca Canyon, where we will start our journey along the road to Yura, where we will admire the natural and cultural landscape of the area, then we will border the Chachani volcano and pass through the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca to reach Pampa Cañahuas, in this place the guide will explain about the flora and fauna of the area, here we will appreciate the natural habitat of the famous South American camelid LA VICUÑA.

Continuing with the tour on the way we will make a short stop in Patahuasi (high house) to drink coca tea. Immediately we will continue the trip to the wetlands where we will observe different species of birds both local and migratory according to season, then continue to Patapampa, highest point of the trip located at 4710 meters above sea level approx. Also known as the viewpoint of the Andes, here you can see different volcanoes such as Mismi, Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya, Ampato, Ubinas and Chachani.

We will arrive to the town of Chivay and have lunch at the Rest. Elegido (Optional)

We will enjoy a refreshing bath in the hot springs "La Calera" and at the same time we can visit the museum of the Collahuas and Cabanas (Optional).

DAY 04: Colca Canyon - Arequipa - Puno

06:00 a.m. approx. After breakfast we will go to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, where we will be able to observe the majestic flight of the condors and the depth of the canyon. On the way back to Chivay we will visit the villages of PINCHOLLO, MACA, ACHOMA and YANQUE, where we will observe typical dances of the area, as well as the Lito maquetas, colonial churches and andenerías.

At the indicated time we will go to take the transport that will take us to Puno.

DAY 05: Uros - Taquile

We will pick you up from the bus terminal in Puno and we will go to the port where we will take our boat to the floating islands of Uros, where our guide will explain us about this wonderful island. Then, we will continue on the same boat to Taquile, we will walk along the native trails to visit the town, the handicraft center and the museum of Taquile.

After lunch at a local restaurant on the opposite side of the island. We will return to the Port of Puno by the same boat.

DAY 06: Route of the Sun

We travel through the Collao highlands, stopping in the town of Ayaviri, an important textile and animal breeding center, to visit the impressive Temple of Kalasaya, ruins of the ancient Pucara culture. Upon arrival in Puno, meet and transfer to your hotel.

On the way, we will pass by the ranch La Raya, where we can see herds of vicuñas and llamas.

Around the temple we find several buildings that were once used as housing or storage. We continue to Sicuani, where you will be offered a buffet lunch in a quiet rural restaurant, where you can enjoy the delicious culinary art of the region.

We continue our journey to Racchi, where we can see a spectacular Inca sanctuary built by Inca Pachacutec and dedicated to the great Inca God Wiracocha. It has a large central wall with a stone base of fine Inca architecture. The other walls are made of giant adobe bricks. The structure also has two circular lateral columns.

We continue to the beautiful town of Andahuaylillas, and visit the church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, better known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, due to its polychrome ceiling. During the trip, we will pass by the enchanting Wacarpay Lake, which offers spectacular views of the mountains reflected in its calm waters.

Upon arrival in Cusco, agency staff will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 07: City Tour

PM Admire the wonderful pre-Hispanic and colonial legacy of the city of Cusco, an interesting tour in which you will visit the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha, ancient place of worship to the sun god of the Incas and on which the current convent of Santo Domingo was built; contemplate the beauty of the Plaza de Armas of Cusco and admire the most representative sculptural and pictorial samples of Cusco art in its imposing cathedral.

Afterwards, visit the surroundings of the city, admire the fortress of Sacsayhuaman and its amazing walls composed of huge stones assembled with great precision, know the Kenko shrine, the watchtower of Puca Pucara and finally Tambomachay, ancient Inca enclosure of water worship. 

Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 08: Sacred Valley

We pass by your hotel, to have a guided visit to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on the Vilcanota River, for a panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Pisac and visit the typical Indian market of Pisac, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the customs of its inhabitants and bargain prices with the vendors, then we head to the city of Urubamba, traveling along the banks of the Vilcanota River.

Lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the afternoon we visit the Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the jungle settlers. We will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and get a clear idea of what this military, religious and cultural center was like during the Inca Empire.

On the way back to Cusco we will visit the picturesque village of Chinchero, where the remains of the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes in the portico, built on the foundations of an Inca building. Transfer to the selected hotel in Cusco for overnight.

DAY 09: Machupicchu

Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the train station, upon arrival to Aguas Calientes our staff will assist you to board the transport that will ascend through an intricate path giving us a spectacular view of the Urubamba River that gives shape to the famous canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will welcome us with its incredible terraces, stairways, ceremonial precincts and urban areas. Energy emanates from all over the place. At the coordinated time, we will return by train and be transferred to the hotel in Cusco.

Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 10: Departure Transfer

At scheduled time pick up from hotel and transfer to the airport.
